The University of Findlay softball team split a twinbill with Tiffin University on Tuesday, April 10, losing 16-5 in the opener before winning 14-2 in the nightcap. The split gives the Oilers a 19-14 record on the season with a 10-8 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

In the first game, Brittany Dauterman was saddled with the loss after allowing 13 runs on 11 hits in three innings of work.

Both Carly Borders and Tori Allen doubled in game one while catcher Lauren Mathias' homer in the bottom of second frame scored Allen and Taylor Bell.

In the second game, Tawna Whited was victorious after allowing two runs and generating two strikeouts in her five innings on the mound.

Morgan Arnold finished 3-for-3 at the plate with five runs-batted-in while Jenna Motuza, Dauterman, and Allen each had two hits in the nightcap.

The Oilers will travel to Northwood University on Friday, April 13,  for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
