Oilers Ink 5

The Oilers softball program inked five players during the November signing period. The class includes Kelsey Borders of Grayslake North High School in Lake Villa, IL, Lauren Trumpler of Hopewell Loudon High School, Abby Funk of Massillon Jackson High School, Sarah Stubbs of Akron Springfield High School, and Kalle Gaddis of Monroe Central High School in Parker City, IN.

Borders is a third baseman-catcher who has been named All-Illinois twice, All-Lake County and Lake County Rookie-of-the-Year as a freshman. Trumpler, a shortstop-first baseman, was All-Ohio First Team last season as well as First Team All-District and First Team Midland Athletic Conference while setting several school records for offense. Funk is an outfielder-first baseman who has earned both Offensive and Defensive Player-of-the-Year of the year at Jackson, and was First Team All-Northeast District and All-Federal League last season. Stubbs is a first baseman-outfielder, and has earned First Team All-Portage Trail Conference honors the past two years as well as her team's offensive award twice and defensive award once. Gaddis, a second baseman-shortstop, was an All-Mid-Eastern League for the past three years, as well as All-Randolph County once.
