The University of Findlay softball team knocked off Lake Superior State University in a twin bill on Monday, April 15 at Findlay.  The wins give the Oilers a 19-9 record on the season with a 7-7 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers won the first game by a score of 14-7 as they generated 16 hits in the game.

Down 5-3 after five innings, the Oiler offense exploded in the sixth frame as Findlay produced nine runs in the 14-7 victory over the Lakers.

Tori Allen went 4-for-5 in the opener, which included her seventh-inning home run, and generated five RBI.

Emily Reynolds ripped two doubles and a single for three base hits and two RBI in game one. Jenna Motuza, Morgan Arnold and Carly Borders each contributed two hits in the contest.

Tawna Whited picked up the win on the mound, allowing seven runs on six hits in 5.1 innings of work to improve to 9-2 on the year.

In the second game, Reynolds' walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Findlay the 6-5 victory in extra innings. Reynolds added two RBI and two doubles as she went 3-for-4 in game two.

Borders generated two hits, including a home run in the bottom of the third.

Dauterman pitched all eight innings in the second game, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks. Dauterman fanned seven batters on the mound.

The Oilers will host Malone University on Thursday, April 18, for a twinbill starting at 3:30 p.m.
