Oilers Crush Cavaliers

North Canton, Ohio – The University of Findlay softball swept Walsh University in their double header on April 9. Findlay's record is now 16-14 on the season and 6-4 in the conference.

Game 1 | W 7-5  (Box Score)

In game one, junior Rebecca Harvey went 3 for 4, scored one run, and batted in two runners. Freshman Caroline Turner also went 3 for 4 in the win, and scored two runs.

Sophomore Dylan Wiley, junior Rachel Vander Roest, junior Emily Barr, and freshman Gloria Corona each scored one run for the Oilers.

Sophomore Megan Fisher started out on the mound for the Oilers, pitching 6.1 innings, recording four strikeouts, and allowing 10 hits and five runs.

Senior Hailey Bryan finished up pitching the last .2 innings in the win, allowing zero hits and zero runs.

Game 2 | W 16-1 (Box Score)

Allison Brunner went 4 for 5 behind the plate against the Cavaliers, scoring two runs and recording a whopping five RBIs.

Harvey had another outstanding performance in game two, going 3 for 4 behind the plate, scoring two runs, and batting in a total of five runners.

Both Wiley and sophomore Sadie Gearhart went 2 for 4 and scored two runs each in the win.

Barr and Vander Roest scored two runs each for the Oilers, while senior Amanda DelMonte, freshman Madelyn Turner, sophomore Savannah Harvey, and junior Evyn Kachenmeister each scored one.

Bryan pitched all seven innings for the Oilers, recording three strikeouts, and only allowing four hits and one run.

The Oilers are back in action on April 13 in Pepper Pike, Ohio with a double header versus Ursuline College starting at 1:00pm.
