Game 2 Box Score

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay softball team lost both games of a doubleheader on Monday, March 29 at the hands of the Ohio Dominican University Panthers. Both games ended with a score of 8-0 and finished an inning early due to the run-rule. With the losses the Oilers fall to 10-11 on the year and 1-3 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while the Panthers improve to 13-8 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

It was not the Oilers night as they struggled to get it going offensively, not managing to get a baserunner past second base until a triple in the third inning of the second game by senior Megan Fisher. She was stranded in that inning by a pop up and a fly out.

Junior Caroline Turner led the Oilers offensively as she went 3-for-6 in the doubleheader including a double.

Junior Lexi Hilling took the loss in the circle in Game 1 as she threw four innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on eight hits. She walked two and struck out two.

Senior Caragyn Yanek took the loss in the nightcap as she tossed 5.1 innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on eight hits. She walked two and struck out five.

In Game 1 the Oilers scored no runs on five hits and made four errors while the Panthers scored eight runs on 11 hits and made two errors. The second contest was similar as Findlay scored no runs on five hits and made three errors while ODU scored eight runs on ten hits and did not commit an error.

Findlay will be back in action on Friday, April 2 when they play host to Walsh University. That doubleheader will begin at noon.
