Oiler Women Defeat Dragons As Men Lose Nail Biter

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams faced against Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday, October 18.  The women defeated the Dragons 65-47 while the men fell 59-52. 

To kick off the meet, the relay team of Marissa McDonald, Kaley Holmstrom, Molly Cade and Emily Annen claimed first place in the 400-yard medley relay finishing with a time of 4:06.33.  The relay team of Jessica Ward, Emma Barnes, Cade and Annen claimed a first place victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay finishing with a time of 3:41.49. 

Holmstrom claimed a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.38. 

Barnes took first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.49.  Barnes also claimed a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.63. 

Ward claimed a first place victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.45.

Ashleigh Weddington took first place on the three meter board with a score of 211.15 while finishing in second place on the one meter board with a score of 205.40.   

On the men's side, the relay team of Ross Stansbery, Graham Copus, Aaron Mitchell and Clay Fogle won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:46.73.  The relay team of Janko Radmanovic, Nick Kaftan, Cody Craig and Todo Djurovic claimed a first place victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay finishing with a time of 3:13.41. 

Copus claimed a first place victory in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing with a time of 1:04.37. 

Radmanovic claimed a first place victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.59.  Radmanovic also took a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.77.    

Kaftan took first place in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) finishing with a time of 2:06.42 while Djurovic claimed a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.53. 

The Oilers return to action on Friday, November 7 when they travel to Ada, Ohio to face Ohio Northern and Defiance in a double dual meet.
