Oilers Set 2 New School Records On Day 1 Of The Calvin Winter Invite

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished the first day of the Calvin Winter Invitational, which took place on Thursday December 4 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan.  After day 1 the men are in fourth place while the women are in fifth place. 

On the women's side, the relay team of Jessica Ward, Molly Cade, Annie Currin and Emma Barnes kicked off the meet with a fourth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay finishing with a time of 7:47.42.  The relay team of Kaley Holmstrom, Rachel Farmer, Marissa McDonald and Hannah Schreiber took fifteenth place with a time of 8:08.03. 

Currin took thirteenth place in the 1,650 yard freestyle with a time of 18:24.16 while Kate Fisher took fourteenth place with a time of 18:28.20. 

On the men's side, the relay team of Janko Radmanovic, Todo Djurovic, Nick Kaftan and Clay Fogle took fourth place in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:54.41.  Their fourth place finish set a new school record in the 800 yard freestyle relay.  Also, Janko Radmanovic set a new school record with his time of 1:40.03 in his 200 yard leg in the relay.  Additionally, the relay team of Ross Stansbery, Cody Craig, Ian Kochheiser and Skyler Pollock took fifteenth place in the 800 yard freestyle relay finishing with a time of 7:36.88. 

Jonathan Marble took fifteenth place in the 1,650 yard freestyle with a time of 17:52.94 while Pollock took sixteenth place with a time of 17:59.57. 

The Oilers will resume the Calvin Winter Invitational tomorrow.
