Oilers Set 3 School Records On The Final Day Of The Calvin Winter Invitational

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the third and final day of the Calvin Winter Invitational, which took place on Saturday, December 6 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The women finished in third place with 467 points and the men finished in sixth place with 304 points. 

On the women's side, the relay team of Jessica Ward, Kaley Holmstrom, Molly Cade and Emma Barnes took second place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:46.54.  Their second place finish achieved an NCAA B standard. 

Ward claimed a first place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.52.  Her victory achieved an NCAA B standard. 

Cade took a third place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56.96 while Ward took eighth place with a time of 58.87.  Cade's third place finish achieved an NCAA B standard and Ward's preliminary round finish (57.43) also achieved an NCAA B standard.  Cade also finished in twelfth place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.06. 

Barnes took sixth place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:12.05.  Barnes set a school record and achieved an NCAA B standard in the preliminary round with a time of 5:06.71.  Barnes also took seventh place in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:09.37 while Marissa McDonald took eleventh place with a time of 2:10.23.   

Holmstrom took third place in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.43 while Rachel Farmer took tenth place with a time of 2:30.94.  Holmstrom achieved an NCAA B standard in the preliminary round with a time of 2:19.49.  Holmstrom also took sixth place in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:11.00.  She achieved an NCAA B standard during the preliminary round with a time of 2:07.80.

The relay team of Barnes, Cade, Ward and Holmstrom claimed a sixth place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:37.97.

Ashleigh Weddington took fourth place on the three meter board with a final score of 381.75.    

On the men's side, the relay team of Ross Stansbery, Todo Djurovic, Janko Radmanovic and Cody Craig took sixth place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.73.   

Radmanovic set a school record in the preliminary round of the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 50.88.  Then, in the final round, Radmanovic broke his own record with a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 49.42.  His second place finish achieved an NCAA B standard.  Radmanovic also set a school record in the preliminary round of the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:35.67. 

Djurovic claimed a first place victory in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:03.21.  Djurovic also took eighth place in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:59.42.    

Stansbery took fourteenth place in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.43 while Aaron Mitchell took eleventh place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.38.    

The relay team of Radmanovic, Djurovic, Craig and Nick Kaftan took fifth place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:09.40. 

The Oilers will return to action on January 16 when they travel to Detroit, Michigan to face Wayne State University.
