Findlay Finishes Championship on a High Note

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the final day of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship, which took place on Saturday, February 14 in Jenison, Michigan.  The women's team finished in fourth place with 374 points while the men finished in sixth place with 257 points.  Both teams achieved their highest finish in the GLIAC Championship in school history. 

On the women's side, Emma Barnes claimed a second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.81 while Jessica Ward took fourth place with a time of 2:03.26.  Both of their times marked NCAA "B" cuts. 

Kaley Holmstrom claimed a third place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:20.06.  Her third place finish marked an NCAA "B" cut.  Rachel Farmer took thirteenth place in the same event with a time of 2:27.63. 

Molly Cade took eleventh place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.39. 

Ashleigh Weddington took sixth place on the three meter board with a final score of 375.65. 

The relay team of Farmer, Annie Currin, Marissa McDonald and Michelle Stefaniak took seventh place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.78. 

On the men's side, Janko Radmanovic took ninth place in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.15.  His ninth place finish set a school record and marked an NCAA "B" cut. 

Todo Djurovic took seventh place in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:05.17. 

Jon Marble took sixteenth place in the 1,650 yard freestyle with a time of 17:45.31. 

The relay team of Radmanovic, Djurovic, Nick Kaftan and Cody Craig claimed a fifth place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:10.83. 

The Oilers return to action on February 21 when they travel to Ashland, Ohio to face GLIAC rival Ashland University.
