Oilers Host Lakers for Senior Day

The University of Findlay swimming and diving teams hosted Grand Valley State University on Saturday, January 14.  The Lakers came away victorious, as the women fell by a score of 139-97 and the men were outscored 150-79. The Oilers also celebrated Senior Day during this meet.

Women

The 200 yard medley relay team featuring freshman Kathryn Samuelson, freshman Hanna Cederholm, senior Meri Cizmar and freshman Lauren Blanchard finished first with a time of 1:50.0.

The Oilers claimed the top two spots in the 200 yard breast.  Cederholm earned first with a time of 2:24.40 and freshman Julia Snell finished in second at the 2:28.35 mark.

Junior Emma Barnes claimed second in the 200 yard free after clocking in at the 1:59.49 mark.

In the 50 yard free, sophomore Amanda Stiegal earned first with at 24.79 and Blanchard finished second with a time of 25.08.

Stiegal also recorded a second place finish in the 100 yard free with a time of 54.64.

Cizmar claimed second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:15.40.

The Oilers 200 yard free relay teams earned the top three spots.  The A team finished in first at the 1:41.27 mark, the B team was close behind at 1:44.91, and the C team finished at 1:48.55.

In the 1 meter diving, sophomore Hannah May came in second with a score of 193.87.

Men

The Oilers claimed the top three spots in the 200 yard breast.  Senior Todo Djurovic finished in first (2:12.64), senior Andrew Rickabaugh earned second (2:29.12), and senior Matthew Sheehan grabbed third (2:29.71).

The 200 yard free relay teams claimed the top three spots as well.  The A team finished first at 1:31.03, the C team earned second with a time of 1:33.44, and the B team came in third with a time of 1:40.34.

In the 1 meter diving, freshman Tyler Adkins finished first with a score of 95.92.

The Oilers return to the pool for their last meet before the GLIAC Championships.  They will travel to Tiffin University on Friday, January 20 and the GLIAC Championships begin February 8.
