Oilers Open Season at NMU

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams opened their seasons on Oct. 13 in Marquette, Michigan against Northern Michigan University. The men fell 177-77 while the women lost 155-99.

The women's team had three individuals capture first place on Friday. Amanda Stiegal won the 25-yard freestyle at 11.75, Hanna Cederholm secured first place in the 75-yard breaststroke with a time of 48.04 and Jenna Dasher claimed first in the 25-yard butterfly at 12.44.\

The men had six second place finishes at the event. Janko Radmanovic was second in the 25-yard freestyle at 10.16 and teamed with Trent Williams, Isaac Stretch and Parker Bull to claim the silver in the 125-yard freestyle relay with a time of 50.46.

Trae Gulgin finished as the runner-up in the 75-yard backstroke with a time of 39.19, Nathan Ladetto placed second in the 75-yard breaststroke at 45.43, Conner Whitaker took second in the 25-yard butterfly with a time of 11.06 and Nathan Bourne placed second in the 125-yard IM at 1:11.01.

The Oilers will compete against the Wildcats again on Saturday.
