Oilers Host Saginaw Valley
Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay swimming and diving teams hosted their first swim meet with Saturday, October 28 against Saginaw Valley State University. The women edged out the Cardinals with a score of 163-137 while the men fell 137-163.
The women had eight first place finishes on the day. Emma Barnes won the 200 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard individual medley with times of 1:57.3, 5:15.48, and 2:12.16 respectively.
Also winning their events were Amanda Stiegal (100 yard freestyle), Sarah Miles (200 yard backstroke), Hanna Cederholm (100 yard backstroke), and Ashton Klopp (100 yard butterfly).
The women took first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:37.89 and the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:57.42.
The men had six first place finishes in the meet. Janko Radmanovic had three of those finishes in the 100 yard free, 200 yard free, and 100 yard fly with times of 46.87, 1:43.56, and 50.13 respectively.
Trent Williams won the 50 yard free with a time of 21.98 and Trae Gulgin won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.14. The men also took the 400 yard free relay with at time of 3:12.22.
The Oilers will compete again on Friday, Novemeber 3 when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan.
