Oilers Score Wins over Hillsdale/Lewis

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Hillsdale College and Lewis University today in Sink Natatorium. The Oilers claimed combined victories over both programs as they beat Hillsdale 175-87 and defeated Lewis 332-191.

On the women's side against Hillsdale, Findlay claimed a 175-87 victory. They also defeated Lewis by a 187-75 advantage.

They were led by Hanna Cederholm and Amanda Stiegal, who each had four first place finishes overall. Cederholm won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.81) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.91). She also teamed with Sarah Miles, Ashton Klopp and Stiegal to win the 400-yard medley relay (3:58.83) and paired with Julia Snell, Lauren Blanchard and Stiegal to claim first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.46). Stiegal meanwhile won the 50-yard freestyle (24.21) and 100-yard freestyle (52.71) to go along with the relay victories.

Emma Barnes scored three victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.40), 500-yard freestyle (5:14.24) and 200-yard IM (2:10.35).

Ashton Klopp was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.38) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.01) while Sarah Miles scored a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.77).

Against Lewis, Sydney Zimdars finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:04.86 and against Hillsdale, Kathryn Samuelson won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.34.

The men claimed a 145-116 win over Lewis. They were led by Janko Radmanovic, who won four events. He claimed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.94), 50-yard freestyle (21.05) and 100-yard butterfly (50.31). He also teamed with Conner Whitaker, Isaac Stretch and Trent Williams to claim first in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:25.12.

Stretch teamed with Trae Gulgin, Whitaker and Williams to win the 400-yard medley relay (3:33.83) and also won the 100-yard breaststroke (59.16).

Ben Rath was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:11.24), Whitaker won the 200-yard butterfly (2:00.44) and Williams won the 100-yard freestyle (48.24).

The Oilers will be back in the pool again on Nov. 18 when they face Toledo and Tiffin in Toledo, Ohio.
