Oilers Season Comes to Close at Nationals
Greensboro, N.C. – On the fourth and final day of the National Championships, the Oilers had two swimmers competing in their respective events.
Representing Findlay in the women's 200 yard breaststroke was sophomore Hanna Cedeholm. Her time of 2:17.56 set a new school record for the Oilers and placed her at 17th, just one spot away from making it into the consolation finals.
Senior Emma Barnes finished her career as an Oiler after competing in the women's 200 yard backstroke. Her prelim time of 2:04.24 seconds left her at 28th in the country in this event.
Barnes is the holder of two individual school records in the 500 yard freestyle and 400 yard individual medley. She was an All-American in the 200 yard backstroke and 400 yard individual medley in 2015. Barnes also earned All-Conference honors in three consecutive years.
Emma was dominant during this year's GMAC Championships, winning the 400 yard individual medley, 200 backstroke, and being a member of the winning 400 yard freestyle relay team.
Senior Janko Radmanovic swam in his last event in the orange and black during the men's 100 yard freestyle race. Radmanovic finished with a time of 44.71 during the prelims, which left him out of the final heats and placed him at 26th in the nation.
Janko, a Serbian native, is the lone Oiler from the men's team to become an NCAA Division II All-American. He did so in the 200 yard butterfly in 2015 and 2016, the 50 yard freestyle in 2016, and the 100 yard butterfly in 2016 and 2018.
Radmanovic was also All-Conference for multiple years, winning the GLIAC Championship in the 200 yard butterfly in 2016 and then becoming GMAC Champion in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly.
Janko is the holder of individual school records in the 50, 100, and 200 yard freestyles, and also in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly.
