Nine Oilers Earn CSCAA Academic All-American

Findlay, Ohio – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the individual names of their Scholar All-America Teams on Wednesday, June 27. To earn a spot on first team, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must have competed at their respective national championship meet. A record 1,069 athletes earned the award spanning all levels of NCAA competition as well as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA). Honorable mention selections were made for those athletes who had a 3.50 GPA and achieved a 'B' standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving Qualifier.

The Oilers placed nine women on the list, fifth-most in the country among NCAA Division II women's swimming & diving teams. Six of those student-athletes earned first team; senior Emma Barnes, sophomore Hanna Cederholm, sophomore Katy Kouvaris, sophomore Kathryn Samuelson, sophomore Julia Snell, and junior Amanda Stiegal. Sophomore Sydney Zimdars, sophomore Lauren Blanchard, and junior Hannah May all earned honorable mention status.
