Torres Named GLIAC Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Sergi Torres was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Athlete of the Week on Feb. 16 for his performance at the Valentine Invitational on Feb. 14 in Boston, Mass.

Torres turned in a great performance in the 400-meter dash where he met NCAA provisional status in the event with a time of 47.42. The time earned him first place in a competition that featured 194 athletes and is the second fastest time in NCAA Division II this year.

He also teamed with sophomore Maliik Briggs, sophomore Derek Collins and senior Jake Miller to take 12th in the 4x400-meter relay with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:16.85.
