Track Wraps Up 2 Meets on Saturday

The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field teams completed two meets on March 28. They wrapped up the second day of the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. and also finished the Yellow Jacket Open in Cedarville, Ohio.

In Raleigh, Justin Welch claimed second place in the hammer throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 68.79 meters to lead the way. Teammate Taylor Miller took 12th in the same event with a provisional mark of 55.80 meters.

Dillon Webster was fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.49 while Michael Bruce finished seventh in the triple jump with a provisional qualifying mark of 14.69 meters.

The Oilers 4x400-meter relay team of Sergi Torres, Maliik Briggs, Derek Collins and Webster added a tenth place finish after crossing the finish line in 3:16.83.

Pam Showman took 11th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.00 while Maud Sanmiquel was 13th in the same event at 1:04.13.

The Oilers 4x400-meter relay team of Sanmiquel, Laura Hernandez, Showman and Shelby Stump added a 12th place finish at 3:56.88.

In Cedarville, Taylor Bolinger took home a silver in the 3000-meter run after crossing the finish line in 10:51.27. Meredith Hoops took fifth in the same event with a time of 11:17.15.

Anna Knapski won a bronze in the hammer throw with a heave of 44.96 meters while Milani Glass finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.90 and also took fifth in the triple jump at 9.82 meters.

Torrie Allgire placed seventh in the pole vault while Briana McConnell was seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.67.

Mitch Adkins came away with three, top-ten finishes to lead the men's squad. He took fifth in the shot put (13.30m), seventh in the hammer throw (42.18m) and eighth in the discus (38.90m).

Jacob Will took fifth place in the 300-meter run after crossing the finish line in 9:32.20 while Matias Trampe-Kindt was sixth in the 1500-meter run at 4:13.92.

The Oilers will return to action again on April 3-4 at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
