The University of Findlay men and women's track and field teams competed at Toledo, Hillsdale and North Central on May 7.

At Toledo, Justin Welch won the hammer throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 223'02.50. He also took tenth in the shot put with a provisional qualifying heave of 52'05.50.

Taylor Miller earned a third place finish in the shot put with a provisional mark of 59'07.50 and also took sixth in the hammer throw with a provisional throw of 181'08.25.

Mathieu Marcoccia scored a seventh place finish in the shot put with a provisional toss of 54'01.25 while Brian Jennings was seventh in the hammer (171'05.25) and 13th in the shot put (46'04).

Ben Hahler achieved provisional status with a throw of 53'05 in the shot put while Mitch Adkins took tenth in the hammer at 148'05.75.

Kendra Averesch had a great day at Toledo for the women's team, posting a second place finish in the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying and school record-breaking throw of 51'10.50. She also placed fourth in the hammer throw with a provisional heave of 174'10.25.

Erica King took second in the hammer throw with a provisional mark of 178'06.50 while Liz Streacker was 17th in the hammer throw at 151'09.25.

At Hillsdale, the Oilers 4x400-meter relay team of Sergi Torres, Maliik Briggs, Dillon Webster and Derek Collins won with a provisional time of 3:11.33.

Derek Spindler also added a fourth place finish in the pole vault at 15'03.75.

On the women's side at Hillsdale, Pam Showman was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 14.04 and teamed with Maud Sanmiquel, Laura Hernandez and Shelby Stump to score a provisional mark in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:48.43. The time was good enough for fourth place.

Sanmiquel also added a seventh place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.64.

At North Central, Melanie Ruich finished 13th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:48.56.
