Greensboro, NC – The University of Findlay track and field team sent a handful of athletes to the Aggie Last Chance Meet hosted by North Carolina A&T State University on Sunday, May 15.

Senior Samantha Grippe was one who made the trip and took advantage of it as she placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a provisional qualifying time of 2:10.59.

The best performance came when Grippe teamed up with senior Maud Sanmiquel and sophomores Laura Hernandez and Milani Glass in the 4x400 meter relay. That group finished in second place with a time of 3:43.04, missing the automatic qualifier by just three seconds. That time is the fastest time this year for the relay squad and establishes a new school record in the event. The old record, set by Stephanie Charnigo, Danielle Grochowalski, Pamela Bullock, and Abbie Shook had stood since 2007.

The teams now have a week break from competition. Their next event is the NCAA Division II National Championship in Bradenton, Florida.
