Gumbs Earns Second Athlete of the Week Honor

Findlay, OH – University of Findlay junior Tynelle Gumbs has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Female Field Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Elite Throws at the Findlay Classic. It is the second week in a row that Gumbs has earned this award.

Facing some of the best throwers in the country in the weight throw, Gumbs took second place in the elite division of the weight throw, only being outdone by the sixth-best thrower in NCAA Division I. Gumbs' throw measured 20.54m (67' 04 ¾"), an NCAA DII Automatic Qualifier for the national championship meet. That throw is a new personal best, is the third-best throw in the nation this season, and is the top mark in the GLIAC this year.
