Findlay Preps for GLIACs

The University of Findlay track and field teams traveled to Kent State University for the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday, February 18. The meet is the last meet before the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships.

Freshman Lenell Shelby III met the provisional mark in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.26.

In the 400 meter dash, junior Sergi Torres captured the top spot with a provisional time of 47.73. This time is currently the 9th best time in NCAA Division II.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the women's team of junior Milani Glass, freshman Semoy Hemmings, junior Laura Hernandez and freshman Jenna Shipman earned 2nd with a time of 4:00.53. The men's relay team featuring sophomore George Effah, Shelby III, senior Derek Collins and Torres finished in 3:17.08 to meet the provisional mark and grab first place.

The Oilers next meet will be the GLIAC Championship, which Findlay will host in the Malcolm Athletic Center on Saturday February 25-26.
