Oilers Compete at Cedarville Collegiate Invitational

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams competed today at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invite in Cedarville, Ohio on February 2.

Men

Senior Trey Everett earned first place in the men's high jump. Everett's 2.04m (6-08.25) jump was a provisional qualifier.

In the men's shot put, sophomore Javian Martin threw for 14.72m (48-03.50) earning him first place. Martin later took second in the men's weight throw, throwing for 16.25m (53-03.75).

The Oilers took three of the top five spots in the men's long jump. Sophomore Martin Etsey took first place with a league record jump of 6.86m (22-06.25). Junior Khalil Capers finished fourth with a distance of 6.42m (21-00.75), and sophomore Babafemi Ayeni placed fifth jumping for 6.38m (20-11.25).

In the men's pole vault, freshman Jake Montag earned second place with a height of 4.57m (15-00.00).

The men's squad took third in the 4x400 meter relay. Seniors Gavin Stepansky, Seth Saylor, Joseph Lauck, and Sam Testen ran 3:38.64 for the Oilers.

Women

Senior Milani Glass won first place in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 25.95. Sophomore Jenna Shipman took third in the event with a time of 26.76. Glass added to her solid day earning second place in the 60 meter hurdles with a provisional qualifying run of 8.58.

Shipman also took third in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.27m (17-03.50).
