Top-10 Individual Performances | #1 Austin Combs

The 2017-18 athletic season at Findlay was one of the best in school history as multiple athletes and teams saw success at both the conference and national level. The UF media relations staff has put together a top-10 list of individual performances from the year and will release them throughout the summer months.

#1 | Austin Combs | Men's Indoor Track and Field

A native of Findlay, Ohio, Austin Combs only competed during the indoor portion of the schedule. He made the most of his opportunity however as he walked away with a national championship in the weight throw.

Combs won his national title with a throw of 20.99 meters at the indoor meet on March 9 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He earned All-American accolades in the event and also took home All-American honors in the shot put after finishing fourth with a throw of 18.53 meters.

An all-region performer by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) in both evens, Combs was also named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Field Athlete of the Year during the indoor season. A first team all-league pick in both the weight throw and shot put, Combs captured conference titles in both events to help lead the Oilers to the overall team championship.
