Oilers Compete at Ashland Alumni Open

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Ashland University Alumni Open in Ashland, Ohio on April 20.

Men

In the men's pole vault, sophomore Gabe Makin earned first place with a height of 4.70m (15-05.00), while freshman Ryan Stevens finished third with a height of 4.55m (14-11.00).

Junior Lenell Shelby III finished second in the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 14.54.

In the men's 400 meter dash, 2 freshman Xavier Marable ran a 48.40 to finish second, while freshman Lane Kolb ran a 50.73 to finish third.

Shelby ran a 52.82 in the men's 400 hurdles to earn second place.

In the men's 5000 meter run, senior Michael Taylor ran a 15:52.54 to finish second.

The men's 4x400 meter relay squad earned third place in their event. Sophomore Seth Saylor, freshman Ethan Pensante, sophomore Zach Jellison, and junior Gavin Stepansky ran a 3:27.03 collectively.

Freshman Justin Dreyling jumped for 6.34m (20-09.75) in the men's long jump to place second.

In the men's high jump, freshman Josh Steinbrunner finished second with a height of 1.80m (5-10.75).

Dreyling jumped for 13.48m (44-02.75) in the men's triple jump to finish third.

Women

In the women's long jump, junior Jenna Shipman jumped for 5.38m (17-08.00) to earn first place.

The women's 4x100 meter relay team finished second. Junior Aubreah Manns, junior Semoy Hemmings, freshman Mikaely Pean, and Shipman ran 49.96 collectively.

Junior Semoy Hemmings ran a 58.52 in the women's 400 meter dash to earn second place.

In the women's pole vault, freshman Meadow Cromer finished second with a height of 3.55m (11-07.75).

Sophomore Mia Johnson jumped for 9.65m (31-08.00) to finish third in the women's triple jump.
