Oilers Impressive in Final Home Meet

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the Oiler Invite on Feb. 13. The women won with 141 points while the men also scored a victory with 129 points.

On the women's side, the Oilers pole vaulters had a great meet as they recorded three NCAA Division II provisional marks with two athletes tying the school record of 13'01.75. Sophomores Morgan England and Lindsey Kluesener took second and third, respectively, in the event with the mark of 13'01.75 while junior Meadow Cromer took fourth at 12'08.00 to become the third Oilers pole vaulter to reach the provisional height.

Sophomore Simone Green scored a pair of first place finishes as she won the long jump with a provisional leap of 18'10.75 and captured gold in the triple jump at 38'05.50.

Junior Gabrielle Lawrence picked up a first place finish in the mile at 5:07.58 for Findlay as well while the Oilers 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Cassidy Baran, junior Hayley Robinett, senior Jenna Shipman, and sophomore Bethany Smith won with a time of 4:01.28.

Freshman Jordan Taylor won the 60-meter dash at 8.00, sophomore Morgan Gaskins was victorious in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:41.17, and junior Brooke Mangas won the high jump with a leap of 5'05.00 to round out the other first place finishes for Findlay.

On the men's side, junior Sterling Mungro took first place in the weight throw with a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying toss of 69'08.25 while senior Martin Etsey won the triple jump with a provisional qualifying mark of 49'04.25.

Sophomore Josh Verhoff also scored a provisional qualifying time in the 200-meter dash as he took first place with a time of 21.88 and he teamed with junior Lane Kolb, junior Ethan Pensante, and freshman Isaac Webb to win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:31.49.

Freshman Gabriel Foster claimed a first place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.10, freshman Jordan Foster won the 3,000-meter run at 8:59.01, and freshman Aaron Cooper was first in the high jump with a leap of 6'07.00.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 19 when they travel to Allendale, Mich. to take part in the Grand Valley State Tune-Up.
