Oilers Conclude Day One of NCAA National Championship

Pittsburg, Kan.-  The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the opening day of competition at the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship on Mar. 11 at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas. 

The Oilers were led by the women's pole vault team who sent three athletes to compete. Findlay's top finisher was junior Lindsey Kluesener who cleared 3.95m (12'11.50") which was good for twelfth place in the event. Her performance tabs her second team all-American marking her third consecutive honor. Following Kluesener was junior Morgan England and senior Meadow Cromer who both cleared 3.85m (12'7.50"). They earned fourteenth and fifteenth respectively.  

Junior Simone Greene, competing in two events, took on the long jump today. Her best mark of 5.31m (17'5.25") came on her second attempt. She finished eighteenth in the event.  

The Oilers will be back tomorrow, Mar 12. The Oilers will be represented by junior Paige Emnett in the shot put, junior Simone Greene in the triple jump, and senior Gabe Makin in the pole vault.
