Distance Runners Compete at Walsh Tune-Up

Canton, Ohio - The University of Findlay track and field team sent five distance runners to Walsh University on Thursday, April 28 for a final tune-up before the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship next weekend.

Sophomore Jordan Foster picked up a victory in the men's 1500m run, finishing in a personal-best time of 3:57.28. In that same race, sophomore Noah Fisher had a time of 4:00.01 which was good for fifth. Both went on to compete in the 800m run, as well, with Foster taking 11th (1:58.38) and Fisher taking 21st (2:01.85).

Senior Hannah Thompson had a first place finish of her own, winning the women's 1500m by 11 seconds. She completed the race in a time of 4:38.17,  beating teammate Maya Hamsher who was the runner-up with a time of 4:49.95. Thompson also ran in the 800m race, taking fourth with a 2:20.13. Also in the women's 800 was sophomore Hailey Wilson who ran a 2:24.89, good for ninth, and freshman Bailey Cheveney who ran a 2:25.05, good for tenth.
