Findlay Completes Day One of PSU National Invitational

Results

State College, Pa.- The University of Findlay's track teams traveled to the PSU National Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27. The meet featured primarily Division I programs including Penn State, Virginia, Penn, Duke, and more. The Oilers had limited athletes participating on day one. 

Top Results

Women

  • Lindsey Kluesener (Sr.)- Finished first in the pole vault clearing a height of 3.91m, she bettered athletes from Virginia, Penn State, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Her mark meets the NCAA provisional standard. 

  • Meadow Cromer (Sr.)- Came in second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.81m. Her performance met the NCAA provisional standard.

  • Simone Green (Sr.)- Took fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 5.67m which came on her fourth attempt. Green's mark meets the NCAA provisional standard. 

  • Kylie Ray (So.)- Took fourth in her heat in the 60m hurdles. She advanced to the semi-finals with her time of 9:07 seconds. In the semi-finals Ray took 14th with a time of 8.95 seconds. 

  • Paige Emnett (Sr.)- Finished third in the weight throw with a throw of 18.01m which came on her third attempt. This meets the NCAA provisional standard.

  • Trista Fintel (So.)- Came in sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.57m on her third attempt. Her mark meets the NCAA provisional standard.

Men

  • Josh Verhoff (Sr.)- Came in second in the event with a time of 6.81 seconds. He then took third in the semi-finals with a time of 6.76 seconds.He went on to take third in the finals clocking in at 6.75 seconds. He edged out athletes from Penn, Buffalo, and Villanova. Both of his times meet the NCAA provisional standard.

  • Shakur Payton (So.)- Finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of the 6.95m.

  •  Gabe Makin (Sr.)- Took seventh in the pole vault with a distance of 4.86m. His mark meets the NCAA provisional standard.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow as they complete the meet tomorrow, Jan. 28.
