Fintel and Krout Earn Major Conference Awards | 27 Earn All-Conference

Great Midwest Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference Release

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their postseason awards for the outdoor track and field season today, June 6. The University of Findlay men's and women's teams earned 27 all-conference spots including ten on first team, eleven on second team, and six on third team. Findlay also earned the Women's Field Athlete of the Year in sophomore Trista Fintel, as well as Women's Coach of the Year, won by head coach Jared Krout.

Women's Field Athlete of the Year (First Team All-G-MAC)- Trista Fintel

The sophomore out of Deshler, Ohio earned the honor after leading the Oilers to the G-MAC Outdoor Championship title in which she won both the hammer throw and shot put before finishing runner-up in the discus throw. With her performance at the NCAA Division II National Championship, Fintel has earned all-American honors in both the shot put and hammer throw. Her best finish at the event was in the shot put where she took fourth.

Women's Coach of the Year- Jared Krout

Krout was selected as the top coach in the conference on the women's side, earning this honor for the first time of his career. This season, Krout led the women's squad to the conference championship title, winning back-to-back outdoor conference titles and have now won each of the previous four track & field championships between both outdoor and indoor.
