Oilers Fall 74-65 to Dragons

The University of Findlay women's basketball dropped a 74-63 decision to Tiffin University on Thursday, December 15 in Croy Gymnasium.  The loss gives the Oilers a 5-3 record on the season with a 2-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers fell behind 13-2 in the first four minutes of the game and could never seem to get over the hump in the second half despite cutting the lead to only three points on several different occasions. 

Findlay shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the floor and out-rebounded the Dragons by a 40-35 margin.

The Dragons meanwhile shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the field and forced the Oilers into 25 turnovers.

Red-shirt freshman forward Carlay Stahl led the team with a season-high 12 points off the pine while sophomore guard Karli Beasley finished with 11 points, tying her career-high.

She also set a new personal best with nine rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.

Senior guard Clare Aubry and junior forward Kayla Brown also reached double figures in the loss with ten points apiece.

Mandy Jaeb recorded a triple-double to lead the Dragons as she posted 11 points, 11 assists and ten rebounds.

Karli Mast scored 17 points for the Dragons in the game as well.

The Oilers will look to get back on track again against Ohio Dominican University on Saturday at 5:30 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
