Brown Leads #25 Oilers to 62-51 Win at Malone

The University of Findlay women's basketball team, ranked 25th in the nation, captured their tenth straight victory with a 62-51 win over Malone University on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Canton, Ohio.

The Oilers, who are now 21-4 on the year with an 18-3 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), shot 51.1 percent (23-of-45) from the field and received a game-high 21 points from senior forward Kayla Brown.

Brown hit 10-of-15 shots from the floor and also added six rebounds and three steals.

Senior forward Tai Dotson also reached double figures with 11 points, hitting all five of her field goal attempts, to go along with nine rebounds.

Senior guard Kendra Elam added nine points, junior guard Karli Beasley had seven and sophomore guard Kristin Klausing stuffed the stat sheet with two points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal off the bench.

The Pioneers shot 40.8 percent (20-of-49) from the floor and were led by Sydnee Penn and Logan Pastor, who each scored 13 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again next Saturday when they host Hillsdale College in their final regular season game.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
