Oilers Snap 2-Game Skid with Win Over St. Thomas

The University of Findlay women's basketball team escaped Miami Gardens, Fla. with a 63-56 win over St. Thomas University on Thursday, Dec. 19 to give them a 5-2 record on the season.

The Oilers only shot 36.5 percent (19-of-52) from the field, but did convert 21-of-26 (80.8%) shot attempts from the free throw line in the game.  They also forced 23 turnovers and came away with 11 steals in the win.

Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker led the way, recording her first career double-double with ten points and a career-high tying ten rebounds.

Junior forward Lacey Kessler came off the bench to score ten points while senior guard Ashley Andrews chipped in ten points of her own.

The Oilers will now head to Nassau, Bahamas for a game against Young Harris on Saturday at noon.
