Cavaliers Defeat Oilers 63-48

The University of Findlay women's basketball team lost 63-48 to Walsh University on Jan. 29 in Canton, Ohio. The loss gives the Oilers a 10-7 record on the season with a 6-7 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers struggled to find their shooting stroke as they connected on only 28.3 percent (17-of-60) of their shot attempts in the game. They were 2-of-17 (11.8%) from behind the three point line and hit only 12-of-25 (48%) attempts from the charity stripe during the loss.

Junior forward Margaret Wuebker led the team with 12 points and six rebounds. She hit 4-of-7 shot attempts from the field and also added a steal and a block.

Freshman guard Emily Molnar came off the bench to score a career-high eight points while senior guard Ciara Geiger had seven points, six rebounds and four steals.

Senior guard Kristin Klausing added six points and four boards while junior forward Kelsey Lewis had six points and eight rebounds as well.

Senior forward Lacey Kessler chipped in four points and seven rebounds in the game too.

The Cavaliers, who shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the floor, were led by Audrey Badovick's 17 points.

The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday to host Malone University. The game is scheduled to tip at 1 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
