Endlebrecht Leads Oilers in Win Over TNU

The University of Findlay women's basketball team got their season started with a convincing 76-58 victory over the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans. The Friday, Nov. 13 victory gives Findlay a 1-0 record to begin the 2015-16 campaign. It was the first time the two teams have played in their program's history.

Four Oilers were able to reach double-digit points in the victory.

Sophomore guard Lynsey Englebrecht led the scoring for the Oilers as she was able to drop in 16 points in 16 points on 6-8 shooting, including 4-6 from behind the arc. Her point total set a new career high, topping her effort vs. Malone last season.

Scoring 14 points was junior Karli Bonar who continued where she left off last season, knocking in 4-9 from the three-point line. Senior Margaret Wuebker stuffed the stat sheet by scoring 13 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out four assists. The final Oiler with double-figures was sophomore Haley Horstman, who scored 13 points.

The leading rebounder was freshman Dana Fricke, who was able to corral nine boards while sophomore Emily Molnar led the team in assists with five.

As a team, Findlay shot 44% from the field (30-69), and also 44% from three point territory (11-25).

The Oilers will be back on the court tomorrow as they take on Kentucky Wesleyan in a game beginning at 4:00pm.
