The Oilers will travel to Ohio Dominican on Thursday before returning home to host Tiffin on Saturday.

2016 Cancer Patient Services Chili Cook-Off

The 18th annual Chili Cook-Off is slated to take place on Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex. If you purchase a ticket to the Oilers basketball games on Saturday against Tiffin, you will receive FREE admission into the Chili Cook-Off.

Make-A-Wish

Tiffin and Findlay have partnered to sponsor two children from a local Make-A-Wish Branch, located in Maumee, Ohio. For both the women's and men's games on Saturday, all ticket sales will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the proceeds made off of a 50/50 Raffle. Each university is also selling school specific Make-A-Wish t-shirts for $10 to raise more money for this important cause.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a 15-6 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Dominican dating back to the 1991-92 season when the teams met in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. The Panthers won that game 77-69.

Earlier this season the Oilers fell 81-79 to the Panthers on a last-second shot in Croy Gymnasium. Both teams were hot from the floor as they each shot 30-of-59 from the floor for a 50.8 field goal percentage. The Oilers hit 7-of-14 from three and turned the ball over seven less times than the Panthers. However, Ohio Dominican out-rebounded Findlay 36-23 and scored five more second-chance points.

Haley Horstman was able to score 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor to lead Findlay. 14 of her points came in the second half as she was a major key to the Oilers comeback.

Margaret Wuebker scored 18 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out a pair of assists, and had two steals. She shot 6-of-9 in the game including 2-for-2 from three point territory.

Karli Bonar was the final Oilers player to score in double-figures as she dropped 12 points on 4-of-8 from three.

The Oilers hold a commanding 41-10 lead in the all-time series against Tiffin dating back to the 1984-85 campaign when Findlay was victorious by a score of 77-36.

The Dragons claimed a 69-66 win over the Oilers on Jan. 16 in Tiffin. Findlay received a 14 point effort from Haley Horstman who canned 7-of-11 from the floor while Christa Puthoff hscored a career-high 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting. She also nailed 5-of-5 from the charity stripe.

Margaret Wuebker approached a double-double as she scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Kelsey Lewis scored six points and also had seven rebounds.

The Oilers shot 41.0 percent (25-of-61) from the floor, but hit only 1-of-5 (20%) attempts from behind the three point line. They held a 33-11 advantage in points off the bench and out-rebounded the Dragons by a 36-31 margin.

Tiffin shot 46.0 percent (23-of-50) from the floor and made 7-of-21 (33.3%) tries from three point land in the game.

Findlay

The Oilers are 13-8 on the season with an 8-7 record in conference play. They are coming off of an 87-80 win at home against Wayne State on Monday.

Senior forward Margaret Wuebker leads the team with averages of 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Haley Horstman is also having a great season and sports averages of 12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 60 three pointers and is averaging 10.6 points per outing as well.

The Panthers are 16-5 on the season with an 11-4 record in GLIAC play. They are coming off of a 69-51 win over Tiffin in Columbus on Monday.

The Panthers are 8-1 on the season at home and have been led by senior Melissa Scherpenberg, who is averaging 13.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

Junior Lauren Bates is averaging 12.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while junior Madi Rittinger is producing 11.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per outing.

Junior Tori Beth Leader is also scoring in double figures as she is averaging 10.8 points per contest.

The Dragons are 5-15 on the season with a 3-12 record in GLIAC games. They are coming off of a 69-51 loss at Ohio Dominican on Monday.

Junior Bre Nauman leads the team with averages of 14.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Freshman Alison Schirmer and senior Jordan Fraley are also averaging in double figures as they sport averages of 13.3 and 11.7 points per game, respectively.

Bombs Away

Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 191 career three pointers at Findlay, the third best mark in school history. She is chasing former UF star Maggie Gompers for second place on the all-time list. Gompers canned 206 three pointers for the Oilers from 2007-10.

Bonar has made four or more threes in eight of the Oilers games this season. Her season high was Jan. 21 vs. Ashland when she nailed six from deep.

Bonar broke the school record for most made three pointers in a season last year with 71. She bettered the mark of 68, which was set by Maggie Gompers during the 2008-09 campaign. Bonar currently has 53 made threes this year, best in the conference. In high school at Shadyside, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).

Moving On Up

Senior forward Margaret Wuebker became the Oilers 20th member of the 1,000-point club on Feb. 1 when she poured in 25 points in Findlay's 87-80 win against Wayne State. Wuebker ranks 20th all-time at UF with 1,016 career points. She is chasing Kati Stedcke for 19th place on the Oilers all-time scoring list. Stedcke scored 1,035 points for Findlay from 1998-2001.

Stroking 3's

The Oilers are hitting 39.6 percent of their three point tries this season, the best percentage in the GLIAC and the fifth best percentage in the nation. They have been led by sophomore guard Lynsey Englebrecht, who is hitting 52.5 percent of her long range attempts. The percentage is the best mark in the GLIAC. Karli Bonar is tenth in the league as she is hitting on 41.1 percent of her tries from deep.
