Findlay Falls on Senior Day

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's basketball team took on Malone University on Saturday, Feb. 20 and fell by a final score of 74-70. With the loss, the Oilers are now 15-12 overall with a 10-11 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

Three point shooting was the factor as the Pioneers were able to knock down 11-of-26 from deep while the Oilers only hit 3-of-18 for 16.7%, tied for the lowest percentage from three in a game this season. With the loss and a win by Northwood, the Oilers are now mathematically eliminated from postseason play.

On senior day, Margaret Wuebker, playing in her final game in Croy Gymnasium, dropped a team-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds, also a team-high. She also had two assists. It was the sixth time since January 1 that she scored at least 17 points in a game.

Also reaching double-figures were sophomore Haley Horstman and junior Karli Bonar who each scored ten points. Horstman had six rebounds and two assists while Bonar's two threes leave her at 205 in her career, just one shy of the 2007-10 efforts of Maggie Gompers for second place all-time at UF.

Freshman Anna Hintz scored eight points, had four rebounds, and three assists in the loss and sophomore Emily Molnar scored five.

Findlay's last game of the season will be Thursday, Feb. 25 when they travel to Detroit, MI to take on Wayne State at 5:30pm.
