Oilers Travel to Canton on Tuesday
The Oilers will head to Canton, Ohio to take on the Malone Pioneers in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 6:00 pm.

Series Information
The Oilers hold a commanding 22-3 advantage in the series with Malone in a matchup that dates back to the 199-92 season. Findlay won that game by a score of 74-54.
Findlay and Malone split their two meetings last season when the Pioneers were still a GLIAC matchup. On Jan. 30, the Oilers ended a five-game losing streak with a 78-53 victory in Canton. In that game, Margaret Wuebker led all scorers with 19 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Anna Hintz scored her current career-high of 17 points in that game on 8-of-10 shooting. Hintz also had three assists.
The most recent meeting on Feb. 20 ended in a 74-70 loss for the Oilers on Senior Day. Wuebker led the team with 19 points and eight rebounds while Haley Horstman and Karli Bonar each scored ten points.
Findlay
The Oilers enter the game with a 2-2 record and are coming off of a 86-72 win over St. Francis on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Findlay was led by sophomore Christa Puthoff who put up career numbers in the win. She set career-highs with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. She is averaging 11.3 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game after that performance.
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht is the leading scorer at 11.8 points per game. She has been deadly from outside the arc with 13 of her 17 made field goals coming from behind the three-point line. Senior Karli Bonar is also playing a big role from deep as all ten of her made shots this season have been three-pointers. The Oilers currently lead the GLIAC with a three-point percentage of .429.
Malone
The Pioneers have started the season with an 0-2 record after a 70-63 season opening loss to Lake Erie and a two-point loss (62-60) to Walsh on Saturday, Nov. 19.
With four players scoring in double-figures, the Pioneers rely heavily on their starting lineup for production. Baylen Dyrlund is the leading scorer at 16.5 ppg. Rachel Goddard and Paiten Strother are scoring 14.5 and 14.0 ppg, respectively while Hannah McCue is scoring 11.5 per game. However, after the top-four, the next leading scorer is only brining 4.5 points per contest.
McCue is the leading rebounder at 10.5 per game while Strother is collecting 7.0 boards per contest.
Preseason All-GLIAC
Junior guard Haley Horstman was picked as a preseason all-conference performer for the Oilers. Horstman returns to the Oilers after averaging 11.9 points per game during the 2015-16 campaign.
Horstman shot 49.8 percent from the floor and also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per contest. The New Knoxville, Ohio native chipped in 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Bombs Away
Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 216 career three pointers at Findlay, the second best mark in school history. Former Findlay sharpshooter Trisha Lauck holds the record for most made three pointers in a
career. She made 232 three pointers for the Oilers from 1996-99.
In high school, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350) Junior Lynsey Englebrecht is also a major factor from behind the arc. Last
season, she led the GLIAC with a three point percentage of .524 making 45-of-84 from deep.
This season, she is off to a fast start as she is second in the league in three's attempted and threes made (13-for-26). He three point percentage (.500) is currently 15th in the GLIAC, but sixth among players with at least 15 threes attempted.
Preseason GLIAC Poll
The Oilers were picked to finish third during the 2016-17 campaign in the GLIAC South Division as the league office unveiled their annual preseason poll on Oct. 27.
The Oilers received 25 points in the poll to tie Ohio Dominican for third place. Ashland was picked as the favorite in the South and were followed by Walsh in the poll.
Grand Valley State was picked as the favorite to win the North Division and received a league-high 47 points and five first place votes. They were followed by Saginaw State and Michigan Tech in the poll.
