Findlay Hosts Tiffin and #1 Ashland
The Oilers will play their final home and home of the year when they host Tiffin University on Thursday, Feb. 16 in Croy Gymnasium. That game will begin at 5:30 pm. The final home game of the season will be on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:00 pm against #1 Ashland University.

Series Information
Tiffin: Findlay and Tiffin have squared off 53 times with the Oilers holding a decisive 42-11 record. The first meeting was in 1984-85 when Findlay won 77-36. The longest win streak in the series was a 14-game streak for the Oilers that ran from 1992 through 2001.
Earlier this season, the Oilers dropped their game to Tiffin on the road by a score of 77-71.
The Dragons jumped out to an early 26-18 lead at the end of the first quarter behind an 11-2 run to start the game. The Oilers were able to claw their way back in the second quarter thanks to 10 first half points by sophomore Elissa Ellerbrock to trail 42-38 going into the half.
Findlay came out of halftime clicking on all cylinders and outscored their opponents 24-15 in the third quarter to take a 62-57 lead heading into the final quarter. The Oilers shot a stellar 71% in the period on 10-of-14 from the field, while Tiffin ended the quarter shooting 37% on 6-of-16 from the field. The tables turned in the final period, as Findlay was outscored 20-9 in the final period. With the score tied 68-68 with just over four minutes to play, the hosts ended the game on a 9-3 run for a 77-71 final.
The Oilers were led by Ellerbrock, who came off the bench to score 12 points on a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor. She was also perfect at the free throw line shooting 4-for-4. Sophomore Anna Hintz recorded her third double-double on the season by putting up 10 points and grabbing a game high 13 rebounds.
Sophomore Christa Puthoff also reached double figures for Findlay with 10 points. Sophomore Allie Thobe, senior Karli Bonar and junior Sarah Baer each chipped in with nine points apiece.
As a team the Oilers shot 24-of-54 (44.4%) from the field and 4-for-13 (30.8%) from long range. They also connected on 19-of-22 at the charity stripe (86.4%), one made free throw shy of their season high.
Ashland: Findlay and Ashland have played 45 times with the Eagles holding a 28-17 advantage. The teams first met in the 1990-91 season, a 58-42 loss for Findlay. The Oilers last win was a 74-72 victory in the 2014-15 season.
Earlier this year, the Eagles took down the Oilers by a scored of 110-65 in Ashland, OH. It was the first time since giving up 102 points to Ashland on Feb. 22, 2007 that the Oilers have allowed more than 100 points in a game. The 110 points allowed are tied for the most points allowed in a game in school history.
Ashland shot a blistering 64.3% (45-of-70) from the floor including 15-of-24 from deep compared to 35.6% (21-of-59) for the Oilers.
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht led the Oilers with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 4-of-7 from deep. She had a pair of rebounds and one assist.
Tying a career-high was junior Elissa Ellerbrock with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting.
Sophomore Christa Puthoff scored nine points and led the team with seven boards while fellow sophomore Anna Hintz scored eight and had six rebounds.
Findlay
The Oilers won three games in a row before losing on the road to Lake Erie College last Saturday, Feb. 11. The five-point loss was the first since the 110-65 loss at Ashland on Jan. 28 as the Oilers are not 12-13 on the year with a 6-11 mark in GLIAC play.
Findlay has three players scoring above nine points per game. Sophomore Christa Puthoff is scoring at a rate of 9.6 ppg to lead the team and is second on the squad with 5.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting 54.6% for the season, sixth-best in the league this year. Meanwhile teammates junior Lynsey Englebrecht and junior Haley Horstman are scoring 9.4 and 9.1 ppg, respectively. Englebrecht leads the team with 59 made threes while Horstman is second on the team with 1.9 assists per game.
Playing in her final games in Croy Gymnasium will be the lone senior on the team, Karli Bonar. The Shadyside, Ohio native has been shooting threes since she stepped on campus in 2013. To date, Bonar has made 252 triples, shattering the previous school record of 232 by Trisha Lauck (1996-99), and holds the number two and three spots for three-pointers made in a season with 75 in her junior year and 71 in her sophomore year. Karli has scored 918 points in the Orange and Black, has 206 rebounds, 131 assists to just 93 turnovers, and 117 steals.
Tiffin
The Dragons have lost 10 of their previous 12 games with the two wins coming over Findlay on January 26 and Lake Erie on February 2. In their most recent game, Tiffin was on the short end of an 80-69 final against Hillsdale.
Tiffin is led in scoring by Bre Nauman at 11.3 points per game. She is also the leading rebounder at 6.5 boards per game. In their matchup earlier this season, Nauman had a big game, scoring 15 points, pulling in eight rebounds, and dishing out four assists, all team-highs.
Ali Shirmer and Allie Miller are next on the team with 9.7 and 9.5 points per game, respectively. Miller scored eight points against Findlay while Shirmer dropped in ten.
Ashland
Ashland is 25-0 overall and 17-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles have won the GLIAC South Division title for the sixth time in the last seven seasons, and are on the verge of a second consecutive GLIAC regular-season championship and the fourth in the last six years.
The latest WBCA poll marks the 22nd time Ashland has been the top-ranked team in Division II. Ashland's nine straight No. 1 rankings is the program's second-longest streak (12, 2012-13). The Eagles are 40-1 (.976) all-time when playing as the No. 1 team in the country.
The Eagles have five players averaging double-figures. They are Laina Snyder (18.0), Andi Daugherty (14.0), Jodi Johnson (11.7), Kelsey Peare (11.2), and Julie Worley (11.2). Snyder is also the team leader with 9.2 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 3.7 assists per gam.e
