Oilers Fall in OT to DI Rockets

The University of Findlay women's basketball team took the University of Toledo to overtime on Nov. 3 in an exhibition game before falling 77-70 in Toledo, Ohio.

The Oilers led 52-42 after three quarters of play before the Rockets outscored the Findlay 19-9 in the final period to force the extra session. Toledo then held a 16-9 advantage in the overtime period to escape with the win.

The Oilers shot 38.5 percent (25-of-65) from the floor and connected on 5-of-14 (35.7%) attempts from behind the three point line. The Rockets meanwhile hit 40.9 percent (27of-66) of their shot attempts and held a 48-36 advantage on the boards.

Senior Anna Hintz poured in a game-high 21 points on 10-of-20 shooting to pace the Oilers while senior Elissa Ellerbrock contributed 17 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Senior Allie Thobe also reached double figures with 12 points to go along with four rebounds, four assists and three steals while senior Lauren Ruth scored six points off the bench.

The Rockets were led by Mikaela Boyd's 19 points and eight rebounds. Kaayla McIntyre added 15 points and 12 boards.

The Oilers will return home to host Ohio Wesleyan in their final exhibition game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 5pm in Croy Gymnasium.
