Hintz Named First Team All-Region by D2CCA

D2CCA Release

Findlay, Ohio – On Thursday, March 14, the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) released their 2019 Women's Basketball All-Midwest Region selections. University of Findlay senior Anna Hintz earned a spot on the first team after being a second team selection in 2018. Hintz is the first player in program history to earn all-region honors from the D2CCA in multiple seasons and is one of just two players in program history to be named. The other was Kayla Brown who earned first team in 2012-13.

A native of North Fairfield, Ohio, Hintz put together her best season in her final year on the court. She poured in 18.8 points per game and had 8.5 rebounds per game, both of which were the best in the G-MAC. She also added one block per game and had 1.4 steals per game, the highest in her four seasons.

She scored 525 points this season, the fourth-best scoring season in program history, and is the only player in Findlay history to have multiple seasons of 18+ points per game. Hintz' junior and senior seasons are the second and third-best scoring seasons in terms of points per game.

Hintz saw great improvement in her three-point shooting in her final season, making 42 shots from beyond the arc. Prior to her senior season, Hintz made 16 three-pointers combined.

For her career, Findlay's dynamic forward scored 1,493 points which is good for third all-time and is just four points shy of second place Jenni McGraw (1993-96). Her 573 made field goals are third all-time for the Oilers. Hintz also worked her way up the career rebounding list and finishes ranked second all-time at Findlay with 854 rebounds.

She also was a presence defensively and racked up at least 25 blocked shots in each of her four seasons. She finishes her career fifth all-time at UF with 107 blocked shots.

As a first team all-region recipient, Hintz will be placed on the ballot for consideration as a D2CCA All-American.
