Oilers in 3rd at GVSU
The University of Findlay women's golf team is in third place after day one of the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite, which is being held at the Meadows in Allendale, Mich. The Oilers shot a 310 on the first day and trail Grand Valley State (307) and Missouri-St. Louis (308) in the standings.
Senior Kasey Petty fired an even-par score of 72 on Saturday to lead the team. Her score puts her in sole possession of second place.
Freshman Mikaela Hickey also had a good day, firing a 77 to put her in a tie for ninth at the tournament.
Junior Shelby Warner is tied for 18th with an 80 while freshman Makenzie Torres is tied for 21st with an 81.
Sophomore Kelsey Koesters (82), freshman Samantha Hatter (87) and senior Hannah Schneider (90) are also competing for Findlay at the event.
The tournament will end tomorrow.
