Wipper Leads Oilers on Day 1 of Bing-Beall

The University of Findlay women's golf team is currently in second place at the Bing-Beall Fall Classic, which wrapped up day one competition on Oct. 9 at the Findlay Country Club.

The Oilers fired a 310 on the first day and were led by freshman Meredith Wipper, who posted a 1-over par score of 73. Wipper, who is in tie for first place at the event, recorded eight pars and sprinkled in five birdies during her round.

Sophomore Makenzie Torres also had a good showing with a 3-over par score of 75, which puts her in a tie for fifth place at the tournament.

Sophomore Samantha Hatter posted a 79 and is tied for 13th while freshman Mackenzie Keenoy is tied for 25th with an 82.

Senior Shelby Warner registered an 83, which puts her in a tie for 34th while junior Kelsey Koesters posted an 84, good for 44th at the event.

Freshman Samantha Kellstrom is also competing for Findlay and recorded an 87 on day one, the 61st best score at the tournament.

Missouri-St. Louis is leading the field with a 309.

The tournament will continue tomorrow with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start.
