Oilers Take Runner-Up Honors at NC4K Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team finished as the runner-up at the NC4K Classic, which wrapped up on April 6 at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio. The Oilers shot a 302 on the second and final day of competition to end the tournament with a 610 (308, 302), four strokes behind the University of Indianapolis.

Junior Danbi Kim, senior Kristina Kniesly, and freshman Gabby Woods all tied for eighth at the tournament to lead Findlay.

Kim posted an even-par round of 72 on Tuesday to finish with a 152 (80, 72) while Kniesly carded her 152 with a two rounds of 76. Woods meanwhile shot a 73 during the opening round before coming back with a 79 in round two for her total of 152.

Junior Jill Schmitmeyer tied for 22nd with a 158 (83, 75) while sophomore Lexis Fickel tied for 28th with a 160 (78, 82).

Senior Meredith Wipper tied for 31st with a 161 (79, 82) and freshman Sarah Scarpill finished 47th with a 166 (88, 78).

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 11-12 at the Cavalier Classic in Canton, Ohio.
