Oilers Lead Bobby Nichols After Day 1

The 7th-ranked University of Findlay women's golf team is currently in first place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, which wrapped up day one competition on March 14 at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. The Oilers shot a 10-over par score of 294 on Monday and lead the field of primarily NCAA Division I programs by four strokes.

Sophomore Gabby Woods led the Oilers on day one and is tied for second with a 1-over par score of 72. Woods posted a tournament-high four birdies on the day and sprinkled in ten pars.

Freshman Mary Kelly Mulcahy is right behind Woods and is tied for sixth after posting a 2-over par 73. Mulcahy recorded 12 pars and two birdies in her round.

Senior Kristina Kniesly is tied for eighth with a 3-over par score of 74 while senior Jill Schmitmeyer is tied for 12th with a 4-over par 75.

Senior Danbi Kim was the fifth member of the Oilers team at the event and is tied for 36th with a 79.

Individually, freshman Erin Mulcahy is tied for 16th with a 5-over par score of 76 while sophomore Sarah Scarpill is tied for 29th with a 78.

The second and final round of the tournament will take place tomorrow.
