Kniesly Named All-American / Guarnieri Coach of the Year by WGCA
On Thursday, May 12, following the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Division II National Championship, the Women's Golf Coaches' Association (WGCA) announced its' all-America team and regional Coaches of the Year. Findlay senior Kristina Kniesly has been named first team all-American while head coach Dominic Guarnieri has been awarded East Region Coach of the Year.
Kniesly picks up her second all-American award of her career after finishing in a tie for 14th at the national championship. This spring, Kniesly has won medalist honors at three different tournaments and now has five tournament wins in her career, tied for the most all-time at Findlay.
Guarnieri has earned East Region Coach of the Year for the second time in his career after leading the Oilers to a dominating performance at the NCAA DII East Regional last week. The Oilers' coach has coached his team to three consecutive trips to the medal match play portion of the national championship, one of just three schools in the country to have acheived that feat. Under Guarnieri's guidance, Findlay won seven consecutive tournaments this spring including earning medalist during each of those wins.
