Schmitmeyer Named G-MAC Athlete of the Week

Findlay, Ohio- Senior Jill Schmitmeyer was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week, released on Oct. 17.

The Oilers finished runner-up at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial which featured eight nationally ranked teams including the Oilers, #6 Anderson, #9 Lee, #11 Limestone, #17 Columbus State, #20 Lander, #22 Florida Southern, and #24 Carson-Newman.

Leading the way for the Oilers was Jill Schmitmeyer. Schmitmeyer, finished in a tie for sixth amongst the best talent in the nation. The two time all-American, carded rounds of 73 (+1) in the first round, 71 (-1) in the second before a 73 (+1) today. Schmitmeyer recorded twelve birdies in the tournament, the third best in the field. 

This is Schmitmeyer's first Athlete of the Week this season and the sixth of her career.
