Oilers Capture 1st Win, 20-4 Over Urbana

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team captured their first victory of the season with a 20-4 win over Urbana University on March 17 at Donnell Stadium. The win gives the Oilers a 1-4 record on the season.

The Oilers jumped out to an 11-2 lead at the half and then out-scored the Blue Knights by a 9-2 margin in the final period. Findlay dominated in the shot department as they held a 38-6 advantage. They also picked up 35 ground balls and forced 23 turnovers.

Junior Sarah Lankton led the team with six goals, six ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Freshman Olivia Sherman had five goals and four ground balls while freshman Maddi Brown scored three goals.

Freshman Rachel Heath took the win after allowing only two goals.

The Oilers will now be off for a week before returning to Donnell Stadium on March 24 for a game against Notre Dame (Ohio) College.
