Oilers Win 5th Straight

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team kept their winning streak going with a 15-6 victory over Lake Erie College on March 23 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The win, which was their fifth in a row, moves the Oilers record to 5-2 on the season with a 2-0 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers jumped out to a 9-2 lead at the break and hit cruise control in the second half to pick up the victory. Findlay's defense was stout throughout as they caused ten turnovers and picked up 24 ground balls.

Sophomore Brooke Eicher picked up the victory after allowing only four goals in 48:43. She also made ten saves in the contest.

Senior Sarah Lankton stuffed the stat sheet with five goals, seven draw controls, six ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Senior Mackenzie Barnwell added two goals and an assist while sophomores Maddi Brown and Olivia Sherman each scored twice.

The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday, March 26 to host Walsh University. The contest is scheduled to begin at noon on the turf at the Armstrong Sports Complex.
