Oilers Tie Record in 19-2 Win

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team came away with a 19-2 win over Davis & Elkins College on March 30 in Elkins, W. Va. The win gives the Oilers a 6-2 record on the season with a 2-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers and Senators were tied at 1-1 during the first seven minutes of the game before Findlay went on a 13-0 run to close the first half. They then cruised through the second period to win their second straight game in conference play.

The Oilers tied a school record with 50 shots in the contest and outshot the Senators 50-5 in the contest. Their 37 shots on goal were only three off of another school record as well.

Ciara Burud led the offense with four goals and two assists. Hannah Peebles stuffed the stat sheet with three goals, three caused turnovers, two ground balls and an assist while Jacelyn Litman had two goals and four assists.

Hanna Morgan, Maddi Brown and Olivia Sherman also added two goals apiece. Sherman also won five draws in the victory.

Rachel Heath picked up the win by allowing only a pair of goals in 60 minutes of action.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they face Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, W. Va. The game is scheduled to begin at noon.
