Oilers Come Up Short at Lake Erie

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team fell 14-12 against Lake Erie College on April 13 in Painesville, Ohio. The loss gives the Oilers a 9-3 record on the season with a 5-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers jumped out to a 7-4 lead at the half and extended their lead to five at 9-4 during the first three minutes of the second half. Lake Erie then stormed back, outscoring the Oilers 10-3 in the final 27 minutes to take the win.

Hannah Peebles scored five goals and picked up four ground balls to lead the Oilers while Allison Kelly found the back of the net three times and also added two assists.

Brie Caruso added three goals while Olivia Sherman had two.

Claire Ferrell took the loss by allowing 14 goals. She made nine saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they face Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. The game is scheduled to begin at 4pm.
